Default Acoustic Bass Guitar Sides

Hey I'm building an Acoustic Bass Guitar and I thinned the sides down to .068" for an easy bend. They are 6" wide at the widest part of the sides. What do you guys think? Should I brace the inside somehow? Or do you think there's plenty of strength and I'm making a bigger deal about it than I should? Thanks!

I'd brace them.

Could I glue straps up and down every so many inches around the sides? Or would it just be best to bend another thin side and glue it to the inside?

.068" is fine as long as you don't aggressively sand or scrape the exterior surface. Laminated sides are the ultimate in strength and crack resistance. Cross grain wood slats or glue soaked cloth strips serve only one purpose, in the event there is a crack in the sides, these strips or slats (most of the time) will prevent the crack from propagating past a strip. I guess is just depends on how rambunctious you plan to use the guitar?
