Just gorgeous and I love the understated elegance that these exude…. the “naked fret board” is the best. I would insist that they be sold as a pair since they have a genetic history.

Which enables me to ask a further question:
Do you have a closeup of the rosette?
They look grand from a distance... how 'bout up close?
Your description intrigues me....

Im sure youll agree, a single purfling line either around a rosette or a binding is among the hardest to pull off clean, no wiggle room at all

These are just a very thin strip of Koa, which turns out is harder to work with than maple, and certainly harder than fiber. Its so brittle and easy to tear out and split....

Must have been a new sharp router bit used for the inlaying.
