Probably not $2500 is a probably the top of my personal budget range..
And at this point I don't really have a desire for an LP

I've owned a ton of good vintage and new guitars and these two are easily in the top 4 guitars that I currently own, or have ever owned. They just make me want to play and sound good plugged into every amp I've got...

Wow those are amazingly clean for used guitars very nice...... congratz, really

A 1960 'burst? It'll go for that easily, even being from the second most desirable year for those.

Edit: just went and checked out Rumble Seat Music online. They have a 60 Burst for $300k and a 59 for $345k currently.

The burst on the Les Paul is exceptional for a guitar from that period. I'm guessing that an interested and motivated buyer could possibly negotiate 10% off?

This is a lot more money, but probably a 'better deal' due to no holes having been cut into it. Notice too how the dings are actually highlighted in photographs for full disclosure.

If it were unmodified it'd fetch another 100k! That's just the way it is, whether we think it's crazy or not.

I don’t know why there are complaints about the price, after all, the shipping is free!

I realize the jest but.
Seems like at that price it should be hand delivered by the seller and never have the chance of being subject to potential parcel service abuse or damage

And to clarify (in general not to your post ) I have no complaints about the price at all, nore do I care what people want to spend their money on , because no matter how may lotteries I might win, personally I would not pay that kind of money for a guitar, any guitar, ever. There is a significant difference between observing and posting personal perspective about value and price, and complaining.

This.

I was surprised by this thread. A 59-60 Burst LP is the "Pre War Martin" of the electric guitar world. Maybe that reference helps those here in an "Acoustic" forum.

I agree. I have played some of these guitars. While some are good, some don't come close to what my expectations would be of such a high priced instrument. I cant imagine spending that kind of money on a guitar. Plus you couldn't take that out of your house to play a gig. I would be worried about it the entire time!
