What electric guitar amplifier should I buy between $750-1000?

Take a look at an Egnater Tweaker.

It might suit your needs to be able to voice your amp differently.

vague terms, but, you may want to go to your local big box store with your guitar and play thru as many amps as you can to get an overall variety of sounds. then you can narrow it down to the one(s) you like.

Always play and test before laying down your money. I'd suggest two of Fender's long term top selling amps. They are very different but I have owned both and think one of them will be the answer.

I'm a tube purist, but for the range of tones you're looking for you may want something like the Boss Katana or another high quality modeler amp. I like much of the same music, and you're hunting a combo of Fender, Vox, Hiwatt, and one of the newer metal amps like an Engl or Mesa Dual Rectifier, in one amp.

If you want tube based, check out a used Mesa Express 5:50+. The cleans are quite lovely, and it still has the trademark Mesa distortion tones available along with multi-level power scaling (50, 25, and 5W on each channel). I'm selling one on behalf of a friend right now, and it was kind of fun experimenting with it while testing out all the controls for operability.

And Amplitube and Bias FX are excellent for computer based amp software, to answer your earlier question as well.

Good point and I agree.

Modelling amp like the Fender Mustang to start out with has always made a lot of sense to me also. (Easier and cheaper to experiment and find out what sounds you really like before you make a potential decision to buy a tube amp and a whole bunch of pedals).

Fender Hot Rod Deville 410 - 60 watts of Tube Power - 4-10” Celestion speakers, plenty of headroom with a nice spring reverb tank and clean or distortion channels. Look for a vintage USA model. You can probably find one in the $500 range.

I was going to say it sounded like you wanted a b/f Fender Twin. I have a 1969 Silverface Twin that does almost everything. The Bugera V-22 is a great sounding amp for budget price. Good luck.

I have a friend’s Ampeg Jet 12. It is sounding better than my ‘58 Tweed Deluxe. It has a tremolo and Reverb, a fat bottom sound, and is closer to a Vox ac 30 to my ears.

They seem to be under $500 on the average. Cool looking and great sounding, I am on the lookout.

Today I went to GC and played the ONLY lefty strat ($1400) they had. This is the 2nd time I've ever played a really good strat in my life (sucks being lefty guys lol). They had an Egnater Tweaker. I played for 2.5 hours and it felt like 10 minutes went by. Had suuuch a blast. And can only imagine what it would sound with my pedals. I'm thinking about doing this, though I need to sell the Boogie/Cab asap. I did try many other amps...wasn't super keen on Orange cleans, as well as Fender gain. Maybe it's because the Mark IV has so many tweaking options, but that's what I loved about the Egnater you can morph the sound around so much.

I think I might want to go with a strat, it's such a breath of fresh air for me. So dynamic. Don't know the first thing about them though. Any good particular model in the $800-$1000 range?
