Default NGD: Made a trade

I was feeling the need to try something new so I put my Telecaster listed below out there to see what was around. I love the pickups but I find I prefer slightly shorter scales.

I made an even swap for a PRS SE Custom 22 (trans gray). I considered one when I was shopping about a year ago. Super comfortable guitar. I’m not a go play at GC kind of guy so finding a trade partner was intriguing. Also not being a “normal” Tele the market is a bit limited. No regrets! Nice and easy and now I get to have some fun!

Congrats on your trade, Mitch. The PRS SE series has some great guitars. Was your Tele an American made one?

No, it is kind of only a Tele in name. It was made in Indonesia and has dual Seymour Duncan humbuckers that can be coil split Really is a nice guitar and loved the pick ups. Having a great time with the PRS so far.

I may be looking for something with single coils next.. they sound so good through my Fender Bassbreaker it’s a shame to not have one..

Good to know - I was afraid you might have traded an American Tele for the PRS SE.

They are pretty similarly priced. I perhaps could have sold mine for a tiny bit more but I am fine with it.

Every time I post pictures something goes wrong. It has a flame maple top with a see-through finish. Looks nice. Really like how balanced it is too, weight well distributed.

Yes, got to have both--maybe a Mustang or Duo-Sonic--both 24" scale.

I will check them out. I did play that Tele in single coil mode a lot. But I’d like a legit one. Plus there are only two guitars on my three guitar stand!

The Gretsch won’t be leaving unless it gets replaced by an upgrade. No guitar feels better to me. Fantastic for its price.

Was not too familiar with the Mustang so I was checking them out. I may need to get my hands on one to try it out. I do like a shorter scale so it could be a good Strat substitute!

The prs guitars coming from the far east (SE) are well made and sound great. After having 12 prsi, got a baritone SE 277. What a fun guitar for spaghetti western noodling. The SE Indonesian has a better set up and stability than my 2017 American Telecaster! What could be simpler than setting up a Telecaster?
