The Wall of Sound fulfilled Owsley's desire for a distortion-free sound system that could also serve as its own monitoring system. The Wall of Sound was the largest concert sound system built at that time.

Jeez Jake! More opportunity for stoner jokes?! Chances are good I would be completely deaf by now had I experienced the "wall of sound."

I just did the D6-8 firmware update. I now have a separate EQ on the XLR outs. It is the same as the channel EQ: three bands with an adjustable mid frequency plus a variable high pass.

The hardest part was finding a pair of five pin midi cables. They told me that all new d6-8 units have the new firmware. It wasn’t on their website. I had to request it via email.

The new EQ affects whatever is sent to the XLR outputs. This can be either the stereo main outs or the stereo aux sends. The regular TRS aux outs are also balanced but they don’t have their own EQ.

This is quite a useful addition if you are using a pair of powered speakers to augment the D6-8 sound in a larger room.

yea that's why i requested it. EAE told me
they had never thought of using the d68 this way..
I figured since it's not that loud it could certainly
benefit from this.Whoda thought
they would have taken my suggestion. lol
good company.
They had told me they are working on a download page.
as this is the first upgrade it may take awhile.
Good product they need a good marketer.
