Difference between 2008 and 2009 GAce LTD Cocobolo
Has anyone tried and compared the GAce LTD-C from last year and this year? Are there any differences in tone, projection and feel?
I am considering getting either a 2nd hand 2008 model or a new 2009 model. Thanks in advance.

I think you'll find the tone to be very consistent. They are almost the same guitar other than the appointments. The 08 has the headstock and bridge inlays plus the koa binding and mini wedge and the abalone around the top (not just the rosette). Personally I think the 08s were a much better deal. If you specd out a BTO of them they would cost almost double what you pay for the LTD. They are SPECTACULAR tonally and aesthetically if you ask me.
Even though it really pains me to, I'm trading mine in with Jim at guitar rodeo but I really really want to keep it, I just need a maple GS for how I play and what I do with the guitar.

I agree. I think you will find the tone to be pretty consistent between the '08 and '09 versions. They both have sitka spruce tops with adirondack spruce bracing. Of course there will always be slight variations in tone from one individual guitar to another of the same make and model. Play them both to compare, if you can.
The '09 is a little more understated aesthetically with the blank headstock and bridge. The '08 has a mini wedge of koa on the back where the '09 has a three piece coco back. I like the way both of them look, but I really like the 'less is more' clean look of the '09. BTW, I just bought an '09 Fall Ltd GA Maple and I love it!
