I would have given myself permission to fail/make mistakes etc. (takes an awful lot of pressure of and, ironically, relaxes you in a way that increases your 'flow' etc. See Barry Greens book 'The Inner Game of Music').
I also wish I'd understood 'progress not perfection' and that progress is a process (which links into the above) so no rush, or as Woody Guthrie said, 'take it easy, but take it...' And always remember that 'things lead to things' so just keep going, go easy on yourself and, above all...enjoy!😊

When you pay in cash, count your money accurately *before* you meet to pay. Never let anyone else touch money you're not sure that you know the exact count of. Even pennies.
Pick up discarded pennies. |

I have a 22 year old son who only likes Suburban wrap.
You can go back to the Renaissance and see what genius composers did. You can study the Great American Songbook. Gershwin, Berlin, Rogers and Hammerstein and other mostly East Coast piano players who actually inserted colored chords into popular music. Maybe the 50's New Orleans? Chicago blues? BeBop? There are so many minstrels and movements that one could study. With todays computers you can make a carburetor out of a coke can. Maybe delve into Abelton and track some of your own tunes? |
