We are going with a little smaller headstock design on the PS and have a gorgeous bookmatched piece of cocobolo for the head plate. We decided to put the "logo" as a graphic element on the fingerboard for this one instead of interfering with the nice head plate.

Thought I'd give you all an update on the progress on our experimental small body (think 3/4 size) guitar.

We're currently working on 3 guitars at the same time - so we are bouncing around a lot on the builds.

A little work on the bracing of the top.

The sound port is pretty much done.

Shaping the headstock. Our spindle sander get a LOT of use!

Check out the wonderful bookmatched headstock overlay! We'll not be putting our logo on this headstock as it is just WAY to nice to touch.

Another view of the headstock overlay.

Enjoy!

Love the inlay... I would still inlay the logo on the back on the headstock. Nice job fellas... you guys are doing such great work.

By the way, I play the Burner #10 The Last Wave http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=177954 guitar often in that it is hanging within my reach from my chair at the dinner table... so it gets played most nights as soon as I am done eating.

Thanks for the kind words Keith. Good to see you back on AGF. Are you behaving??

I can see a PS model in your future that matches your "wave" guitar.

+1 on the 12fret neck joint.
It's never made sense to me all the parlor and travel size guitars out there that are being made with 14 fret necks?

but at any rate, looks like it's going to be a fantastic little guitar.
i'm currently building a short-scale electric resonator with a 23.5 scale.

I'll think about a 12th or even a 13th fret neck joint for a future PS Model build - I know that Flammang does a 13th fret and it is really a nice balance.

Well..... it is amazing how a few months can pass by...

We didn't get a lot of photos posted on this thread - and now the guitar is off at Joe White's place.

Kyle let me go with my desire to have a sunburst on this one - and Joe suggested that we also color the neck to tie it in with the Cocobolo back/sides.

A VERY good suggestion by Joe!

Here are the photos he sent us of the progress. We should have this one back soon. I'm hoping to play it at a gig for New Year's Eve! (At least one song - just for fun).

Not sure if this little guitar will be sticking around our place - or if we'll sell it. Time will tell.

A couple more photos just came in from Joe White on the finishing of the new mini guitar.

She's looking shiny now!

Default Amazing

I for one can't wait to see this once finished; I'm even more excited to hear how it sounds. The sign of a great luthier, IMHO, is someone who is always trying something new and stretching their craft. What Paul and Kyle have done with such a small sampling of instruments is amazing. If they sounds as good as they look, then we are looking at two rapidly rising stars.

10,000 hours to mastery; here I come

Cole Clark FL2AC (Bunya Pine/Australian Blackwood)
Schenk Ophirio (Adirondack/Figure Sapele)
Larrivee 00-03 SE (Sitka/Mahogany)
Ciole Clark Jack Tenor UKE (All Balckwood)

A few electrics, amps, pedals, etcetera, but never enough; just don't tell my wife

I love this sunburst, it works so well with the Cocobolo. You guys really knocked it out of the park on that one. Way to go!

Default New! Burner Guitars PS Model

Does this guitar have a thick profile neck? It may just look large being next to the small body.

Beautiful guitar by the way. Like brad said that burst is perfect. I usually hate a burst but that one matches the coco perfectly and just promotes continuity from the soundboard to the sides.

She's on her way back from Indiana!!!!

Joe White is done with the guitar and it made it to FedEx today. Before he shipped it off he shot some photos with the neck in place. Wow - I'm excited to see this one in person.

Here's the photos:

That is one gorgeous guitar! I love the dark vibe it has going and that inlay is simply genius. Will we get some audio of this one?
