Default SOLD!! FS: Taylor 810 | 1996 | One Owner

And SOLD! in a local trade for a very nice Mandolin!
I am selling my 1996 Taylor 810 purchased new by me in that same year. Includes LR Baggs Lyric installed. Excellent condition, one or two very small dings in the top and one in the back (pictures included but I can get more if you'd like to see them). I sent it to Taylor 2010 for a re-fret and upgraded to a bone nut and saddle. Ultra-thin 1990's neck profile with a 1-11/16th nut. One of the most slender Taylor necks that I've played. My friends that play electric always reach for this guitar when playing lead in our sessions. I have no problem playing this neck shape and nut, and neither do my buddies. But if you compare it to a 'v' shaped neck or anything 1-3/4" nut it's going to feel 'different'. The top is very tight grained and silkened and has started to mellow in color. The sides/backs are dark brown, almost purple in areas rosewood. The fretboard is ebony as is the bridge. The bridge has three very small light-colored areas in the ebony. Taylor has always been a proponent that good Ebony doesn't have to be all black or died black. It has the iconic 'smiley bridge' with ebony pins. Always cased in the OEM pink poodle case which is also in very good condition. Non smoking home and this is a well cared for 'Golden Era' Taylor with a sound I liken to a grand piano. Rich, full and balanced. Currently strung with Martin Lifespan Mediums .013-.056. Works equally well with lights, but mediums really bring out the best in her. I have been playing more Mandolin of late and after giving it a lot of thought I've decided to sell my first 'nice' guitar to fund a Mandolin upgrade. This ad was first posted in 2015, obviously I haven't been too intent on moving it to a new home. But now I would like to see someone else enjoy it. $1800 shipped to conti USA. No trade offers please. Photo album is HERE

One of my very best guitars is an identical '95.

You can't find guitars this good for under $2k.

Memorial Day Bump for an outstanding Taylor. In the year 2050, when Taylor decides to make a 'Golden Era' guitar - this is the one they will copy

Thanks rcoolz (and the other posters). I played this guitar back to back with a 2015 (Andy Powers) 810 - and this 1996 was still the winner.

Great guitar!

I've got this same guitar. Like yours, it was the first "nice" guitar I ever owned. Mins is pretty dinged and scratched up now, but I'll never sell it. It's a GREAT guitar. Good luck with the sale.

Default Bump for a Taylor 810 blast from the past.

First posted FS in 2015 but never sold, has been mostly cased since the first ad. Now selling to fund a mandolin upgrade. Those mandolins are expensive So let's find this excellent 810 a new home.

Smile Memories...

My first good guitar was a 1994 810. After a former lifetime of singing and drumming.

These are awesome flatpicking machines.

Best on your quest for a fine mandolin!

Cheers

Paul
