If you were to own two guitars...
what would they be? Answers should not be based on resale value but instead the compatibility between the two guitars. I'll start things off with a Martin D-18 and a 000-15sm or an Emerald X20 and an Emerald X20-12...

If I could only keep two of my guitars it would be my Yamaha FS5, my favorite guitar, and my Yamaha CSF3M. I love the concert-size guitars (FS5) and the CSF3M is the size of the better-known Taylor Mini. I think they complement each other well. I don't have any dream guitars that I lust for, I enjoy what I have!

I only have two, the GS Mini is my kid’s guitar, and they’ll be my last two!

For me, regardless of brand or maker, I want one guitar to have a nice, warm, woody tone with lots of fundamental that would really showcase strumming. The second guitar would have more overtones, respond to a light touch and really showcase finger style playing.
Obviously, on any good guitar you can do both finger picking and strumming but having guitars that bring out the best in each of those techniques is ideal. Fortunately, I have examples of both of these in the guitars that I play. Best, Jayne |

One electric, one acoustic.
I think the first is pretty well set: it's a John Page Classic Ashburn. Former Fender CS coordinating with a workshop in Japan (they've since moved back stateside) to make a great, essential S type. The second is in flux with my Furch currently hunting a new friend in the classifieds. Some variation on the D/slope theme with minimalist aesthetics. The next candidate's en route, and I think I'm giving myself a little more grace now realizing that, if it's just going to be one, it really does have to be right. I've had several come through my hands that would be killer second options. Hopefully landing that plane soon though. |

For me, maybe a Martin HD-28 for a main dreadnought, and an Olson SJ (cedar/EIR) for a finger picking guitar.

For me, it’s a D18 style and a J45 style. I was lifetime content with my D18GE and Burkett J45 when my family surprised me with a road worn HD28LSV last Father’s Day.

I have my two for now. Martin 000-16 and a McPherson Sable. The Telecaster is just a newly acquired spectator.

Larrivee Custom Bearclaw OM-40R and Taylor DN5e Engelmann/Honduran Mahogany. My 2 favorite companions for tone, comfort, and aesthetics.

Going with two I already own I'd say my 00015SM and J185. That's my answer today anyway.

Currently, I own 6 guitars.
If I had to reduce it to two, I would keep my Martin D-35 and my Guild 8 string Baritone.
