Default An acoustic strummer gassing for an electric but . . . NGD

Hello all.

A lttle while ago now I posted a thread - An acoustic strummer gassing for an electric but . . .

I am sorry it is a bit of a late NGD but I have been busy playing with my new toys

First of all thank you for your advice.
Taking elements of what came out - hollow/semi hollow body, not to expensive until you get into what you like and some amp advice - especially Steve De Rosa who has a lot of love for Bugera.

Epiphone 339 pro.
For the money it looks great.
For anyone who has started out on electric - even if you can play acoustic - and knows how awful you sound when you first pick up an electric - it sounds great

Amps
Lots of love for Bugera and the Yamaha - which I fancied
Could not decide - both got nice features.

Bugera - simple to get on with as a beginner, sounds great, looks cool
Like the guitar - incredible for the money.

Yamaha - more features to play with and try out.
Line in, can plug in my acoustic (did not have an acoustic amp)
Light, battery powered possible, bought the carry bag for it.

So I bought both.

Then I was digging around and picked up a Boss looper.
Been playing about with looping and the basic drum machine feature is a lot more interesting to play with than a metronome.
Also gives the added bonus of having a line in which the Bugera does not have, so I can play stuff through the Bugera.

So as I said - lots to play about with.

Thanks again for your advice.

Steve

Default acoustic strummer gassing for electric

Nice set-up you got. I used to have a es-339 but sold it to help finance another guitar purchase. I did like it a lot. I've never played with a Bugera but I bet it's nice.

Thanks for the props, Steve...

FYI I picked up a V5 myself during the GC Washington's Birthday Sale - have yet to run all my electrics through it (including my Epi 339 Ultra) but sounds great so far with the P-90 LP, Godin CW II (also P-90), and Gretsch 5622T; as I did with my V22, there's a set of these in the not-too-distant future:

Since I see you like to crank the preamp a bit, IME you'll find (as did one of the reviewers) that the breakup is smoother and more predictable, especially if you order the matched triodes (well worth the extra $5)...

Use it well, often, and LOUD...
