Default Tell me about the Yamaha AEX 1500

What interests me in the AEX1500 is the combination of piezo and magnetic pickup in a reputable guitar build.

Big problem is.... I dont play jazz...Except a couple tunes on pedal steel. I have thought in the past that I ought to dabble in the genre more but most of what I play these days is rhythm to country bluegrass rockabilly type songs... And then acoustic clean or electric dirty leads over pop folk rock songs my duo partner sings.

In terms of other guitars I have been looking at...

I tried a Godin A6 and that was a pass for me... Didnt feel or sound like a grail. I very much liked the Taylor T5z but it is more cash than I am allowed to spend. This brings up the possibility of a crafter SA or SAT which seems roughly modelled after the T5 series except without the better pickup location per the Taylor.

However... I do love Yamaha... Most of my gear is Yamaha. A good part of my interest is brand comfort.. I know I will get a great product... Even if I can find no use for a jazzbox... Haha.

For those with the AEX...

How closely can a person dial the piezo and magnetic pickup to get a flattop acoustic tone via the onboard or possibly outboard eq or image.. modelling or simulator gear..? Eg.. Fishman Aura or zoom A3 for example.

And could the magnetic pickup give a decent light overdrive blues lead tone through a Fender voiced amp?

What else shpuld I be thinking about to check into. 1000 budget.
