Perhaps a Gibson Les Paul type guitar .... not sure because I don't own/play one.

PS: I tried a Fender Relic Telecaster fairly recently with a neck the size of a baseball bat. (Great guitar but the size of the neck put me off somewhat ..... nothing like my modern Telecaster).

If you want wide, Eastman specs a 1 3/4" neck on their thinline electrics.

Or you can just order a wider neck from Warmouth or StewMac for example.

Eastman archtops are great, with 1 and 3/4 inch width at the nut. I have one...quite a versatile guitar !

Some Gibson SGs have a wider neck lately.

You have to pay about 4000.00 to get a Gretsch with a wider neck.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

Somebody smarter'n me should chime in but nut width is just one aspect of how the guitar feels at the neck. String spacing, neck shape, other factors pertain.

I had the same experience as you when I decided to buy an electric several months ago - my first in 35 years - after playing just acoustics. Fretting hand just feeling super cramped as I played dozens of used and new electrics. Most of the Fenders were for me unplayable - altho for a while I had my heart set on a real deal '72 Tele Thinline that gave me no space issues. Not sure why. Months later I settled on a Gretsch Electromatic semi-hollow that, if I just look at the nut width of 1.6875", should be too tight. But it's not. Gretsch is doing something that allows me plenty of room from the nut to the bridge. (I fingerpick with all 5 bare fingers, some strumming + slide.) I also played acoupla wider neck electrics that still felt wrong.

Anywho, that's my inept attempt to broaden the discussion beyond just neck width. There're AGFers who understand this from a more technical angle than I can get to.

G&L offer 1 3/4 necks on their USA line. If you like Tele's, one of the ASAT with a "Classic Wide C" neck profile may fit your bill.

One thing that helps me switch between guitars is the LaBella 20PL Electrics Stainless Steel Flat Wound Strings. I use Lights 11-52 on some of my guitars and have found the tension kind of tricks my brain into working with the different action and narrower neck on an electric.

IIRC my old Carvin guitars had a relatively wide neck, a bit on the flat side.
They may have changed it recently, as mine were from the "shredder" era.

You would have liked my Modulus Graphite Blackknife guitar that had a wide fat neck.
They are a rare bird however. Still wish I had mine!
