I once had a "hamburger" in London, where the meat patty was poached.
Guess we should have visited the Colonel instead !

You forgot spam.

And of course, north of the border, in Bonnie Scotland, you can get a deep fried haggis, pizza, Mars bar, or Snickers, all in batter, yum !

Spam's new slogan for the US is "Don't knock it till you've fried it"

I like that ! Corned beef makes a nice fried slice too, you need the tinned stuff though, the fresh deli stuff falls apart.

If one person called the police I would think they are maybe a less-intellectually-able person and I could be understanding of their confusion.

If several people call the police about fast food shortages I think there are some stupid people out there.

If a "nationwide" problem exists with police being bombarded by overwhelming calls, I think there is a whole bigger people problem on this planet

Big news here - made me laugh! It's JUNK FOOD!

Actually it isn't a shortage of chicken it is due to KFC changing their logistics service to DHL who have failed in a major way to manage continuation of business for KFC - I see a BIG law suit ahead - lawyers are rubbing their hands!

I have heard a 9-1-1 call recording of a lady reporting her local McDonald's had run out of Nuggets. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Whoever the buyer is, they aren't looking in the right places! I live in East Texas where every other stretch of land has 3-6 500' long chicken houses on it with approximately 35K birds per house.

There is no shortage of chickens around here!

I know what you are saying, but British food is so manifold that it isn't a Take-out" kind of cuisine.

However people in the UK often talk of getting a Chinese, or Indian etc, and there was once a British Asian comedy series where they had a sketch of a group of young British Indian folk going for an "English" and asking for the most bland thing on the menu, just as White British bravado tend to go for the hottest curries in Indian restaurants. It was very funny and the joke was on the English cuisine, and of course macho bravado.
