Default Earth Day

I remember well the first one; I was in 9th grade. My schoolmates all collected newspapers and took them to a recycling station.

Now, my campus has recycling bins for plastics, paper, and glass in every building. Even small towns have curbside recycling.

I've shifted to a paperless teaching system; all my assignments and essays are electronic. But I still get printed memos from the college administrators telling me not to waste paper.

I suspect the Earth has its own plans and its not letting us in on them.

I suspect the Earth is telling us its' secrets. What we humans choose to do with the information is the issue.

I'll make it my business to do something organic before the end of the day...

Saw a documentary showing the man made damage done to the planet since we started sending satellites into orbit.
Devastation of forests disappearance of great lakes all over, and pole ice virtually disappeared.

It is quite shaking.

Of course, the planet is fine and will continue, but the over producing infestations (humans) are rapidly messing their nests. We'll go, the planet will continue.

My 'Earth Day' ritual? I run the remaining gas out of my snowblower, and fire up the mower to make sure it's good to go for the summer.

What's wrong with trees? They give us our oxygen.

And guitars.

I'd like to express my opinion about what I really think about "Earth Day," but I would be banned from the forum post haste.

I hope the Earth Day celebrants do a better job cleaning up trash after themselves this year than what they've done in the past.

I didn't realise it was Earth Day, but I was at a Flat Earth Society meeting.

There's an old saying used by people that work in the waste industry, it's "The solution to pollution is dilution". We are at the point where there isn't any way to dilute the pollution any longer. Every lake and stream in Iowa is polluted.

Or why anyone thinks it's ok to throw litter out car windows or just while walking outside.

I'm talking to you, cigarette smokers.
