Default The Bates Motel

We're getting towards the end of season 4 on Netflix and something quite shocking has happened!

I won't spoil it for anyone who's watching. But what a terrific series this. When my wife first suggested it, I wasn't too enthusiastic. however, the plot is ingenious and the acting superb. I'd never heard of Vera Farmiga before; she's really good as Norman's eccentric mother.

Anyone else either liking or not liking it?

We watched it on regular TV, and thought it was over at season four, so I'm glad you brought it up since there's apparently a fifth season.
And agree with you about the acting and story lines.

I'm pretty sure there's a 5th, but we won't be getting it on Netflix for a while.

I watched the first season and a half and thought it was ok. I lost interest in it, but maybe I'll give it another shot.

Vera Farmiga is really excellent in that series. Freddie Highmore has so thoroughly embodied Norman that you forget what a cute kid he used to be.

My wife loves it. This is, apparently, the farewell season. I don't watch it but I see scenes in passing and it seems well done.

Not giving too much away, did anyone else get an 'incorrect' and guilty satisfaction when Sheriff Romero wiped the smug and crazy self righteousness off Norman's face with a smart right hook? Actually, I was hoping he might have had the chance to follow it with another one!

I haven't seen it this season yet. Thanks for the reminder. I've watched all the other seasons.

I sort of lost track of the series in the middle, but I watched the final episode last night. They wrapped it all up very nicely. The whole series should make for good binge watching.

I never watched any of it until my daughter convinced me to watch the final season this year. I was hooked after the first two episodes, even though I didn't have the background down. I must have asked a hundred dumb questions until I finally "got it".

I did not see the end happening like it did, but in the end Norman got what he wanted, which was to be with his mother. Creepy but entertaining.

Wasn't too crazy about the way some of the things happened, but I overlooked it for entertainment value. If they had done it my way, the show would've lasted only about 15 minutes, though, so....

Yep, it's a good one. Vera Farmiga played in many films over the past decade but most notable would've been The Departed. She played the love interest of Matt Damon and Leo Decaprio's characters.
