Quite similar to their Zoom A3 without effect...

Yes, with physical buttons to access the most common settings. This makes a lot of sense to me. If I find myself in need of a direct box in the future, I would be very tempted to go this way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I like it! Well-thought-out piece of gear. Can't wait to try it. Thanks for the heads up

I wonder when the release date is. This one probably cures the high pitch frequency problem that the A3 is plagued with.

It looks like the A3 without the effects or mic input. And not the UI nightmare that is the A3.

For me, having parametric EQ control and an adjustable notch filter is more important than having 16 different pre-set sounds to choose from. As on the Aura pedals, few of these ever really sound right to my ear. But best of luck to Zoom on this....always good to have more choices.

You're probably not alone. But, I suspect the point of this pedal is to add some automation to getting great tone. The simulation and auto anti feedback elimination. I suspect a lot of today's players want a simple solution to making basic pickups sound their best.

Hated the A2. Love the A3, despite the steep learning curve, because it gives me considerable EQ control and enables me to blend two pickups or a pickup and a mic.
This AC-2 reminds me of a DTAR Mama Bear with a lot of added features and no way to adjust the dryness of the signal, aside from turning the reverb off. They probably got a ton of user feedback that the A3 is too complicated and user-unfriendly. You have to give Zoom credit for responding to their market. |

Hi, same to me - but you canīt design the holy grail for everyone. I need: D.I. para mids boost tuner I already own a parametric di, so this combination would be light and small. Itīs possible to switch off the modeling, so thatīs fine to me. Iīd rather buy the LR Baggs Venue - this is just a matter of price to me. cu erniecaster

New Zoom AC-2 Acoustic Creator Pedal

I like parametric mids too. But, I wonder if the body size models take care of that issue with their EQ curves. The feedback buster eliminates the need for notch filters too. And I like the small size and power options. Having used the Zoom A3, I found the models and the EQ to be pleasant. If I didn't already have enough stuff, I might be really tempted to get this pedal. Oh who am I kidding? I might get one regardless. :-). I play a few places with house sound where I need my own direct box for the PA. I bought the TC Play Acoustic for that purpose. The TC Play Acoustic is Ok for that situation, but it lacks feedback control and easy to reach knobs for EQ and volume. I played a really loud stage where the Play Acoustic was howling through the monitors and I was pretty helpless. The sound guy could not figure it out. So, I ended up ditching it and plugging into a guitar amp. This little pedal would have been perfect. The Play Acoustic is better for when you are doing your own sound, or you are using the exact same settings every time, like Church. Oh well, I've convinced myself to buy one. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The Boss VE-8 has a parametric mid and an adjustable notch filter (along with other great tone shaping features). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Does anyone know the price on this pedal? Another question would be how many bands of feedback suppression it has. One thing I love on my Boss VE-8 that I haven't seen on anything else is that I can turn the reverb on on the 1/4" outputs but off on the XLR out. I'm assuming the Zoom AC-2 sends its reverb to the XLR out. A little reverb on the stage monitor is nice but I can't think of any instance where the guy running sound would want my reverb.
