Truss rod sigma dm3
I have a Sigma DM3. I am not sure of the year, but the truss rod is very loose.
I can tighten it and it will reach a certain point and stop. I just want to know if this is normal or do I have a big problem. |

Two questions come to mind,
Have you measured the relief? Do you understand the function of the truss rod?

Truss rod
Yes I do understand what the truss rod does. I put lighter gauge strings on
it and got a little fret buzz. The truss rod was very loose so as an experiment I tightened it to see what would happen and the buzz went away. From everything I have read that is totally opposite of how it should be. |

A very loose truss rod, or truss rod nut can rattle like crazy, so gently tightening the nut is a first step to diagnose and cure that sympathetic buzz. . .
