String noise with bridge pickups
I have recently started playing acoustic-electric after many years of electric-only playing. I have tried a number of guitars with built in amplification, and they all have the same problem The amount of string noise (from sliding fingers on low strings) is not tolerable. I play a style that does lot of position changing and fingers are always sliding on E and A, especially. I have tried using a lot of HF rolloff to suppress the noise, but it takes so much that it kills the sound of the high strings. I am looking for suggestions, especially if there are wound strings that are noticeably quieter.
BTW: I use nylon strings only, preferring a mellower classical sound. |

Maybe a extra light gauge set of Elixir Polyweb Phosphor Bronze??? Not nylon, but pretty slippery and mellow.

I put baby oil on a cloth and wipe down my strings. I've done this for 40 yrs. and it stops the string/hand noise.

I'd imagine a dab of Fast Fret might help. I'm not especially a fan of the stuff myself, but I have friends who swear by it.
