I'm gonna enjoy following this one along! Cant wait to see how that rosette turns out... I'm a sucker for intricate wood inlay.

The rosette is in. Here is a picture with a little more context.
I am going to go with a Macassar Ebony fretboard; More to come! Mark

Wow, really nice Mark. That Cherry as background is perfect and then the other colors of the top and fretboard and inlay are all so, well I'll just say perfect again!

Mark,
Are the fine black lines like for the veining in the leaves done with inlay or are they etched with a wood burner or something of the like?

They are cuts that go all the way through the wood just like the outlines. The leaves etc. are sealed with CA and set in the Cherry pockets with black epoxy. The veins get filled with the epoxy in the process. So many of those individual grapes are just little round Bloodwood cutouts. The trick is to hold all the pieces together until they are glued. I had one bunch fall apart (explode) and it was easier to cut out another bunch than to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Lance McCollum used to call his guitars "Functional Sculpture." I bet he would have loved your work. I sure do.

I like that term "Functional Sculpture". I recently had one of my guitars accepted into a juried art show. A term like that would serve me well at the opening reception. Thanks Again, Mark

Back to the Back
Here is my first test fitting of the back onto the pre-cut sides. This has the potential to be a mess because of the multi-radius design. If it doesn't fit it could be a day of testing and trimming, testing and trimming.
And It Fits! First try! Who's the best multi radii side trimming fool? You can see here how that 4 foot radius will get some guitar out from under your arm and put the air volume right in the middle where you want it On to making this all come together;

You did not disappoint! That is incredible I'm amazed that the level of detail you were able to do with it. Beautiful guitar so far!
