Most PA speakers are not flat, but not all. For example, Daedalus speakers are quite flat. I've used my Daedalus W803 pair in the studio but they don't work well as near fields, not because of their frequency response but because of their designed projection and dispersion). They work as midfields and I suspect they would work well as farfields (my studio space is too small for farfields).
