Soldering iron hot knife
I'm thinking that I can attach a pallet knife to my soldering station iron to create an electric hot knife for separating glue joints. I'm going to try it anyway, but just in case anyone has already done this, either successfully or otherwise I'd enjoy hearing about it.

I'd like to see a picture of that.

I cut the end off a small pallet knife and stuck it in the end of a cheap soldering iron. It works, just not very well... The blade gets hot and separates the glue seam well. Neither blade nor iron are really designed for sideways force, so they tended to bend. I still think it's a good idea though. |

Seems like a good idea if it can be a bit sturdier. Time to experiment!!
