Default Open Mic...Love it?

I just started posting here (Open Mic) a few months ago and find myself coming here before first when logging in! Love the conversations and feel it is a little more intimate. You?

Yes, Marty. Open Mic is more intimate...a place where members discuss a vast range of tooics, joke around a bit, and can generally get to know each other better.

I like it here. At first, I didn’t spend much time here, but found that it was a friendly spot.

Most of the time I hit the “new posts” link. Then browse down the line for anything that catches my interests.

I generally enjoy Open Mic. Because we are not limited to the dedicated topics of our other forums, even General Acoustic Guitar Discussion, we do have freedom here to share more personal things. I like that. It helps us get to know each other better, and become more of a community of friends rather than a momentary gathering of guitar buddies. I probably spend 65% of my AGF time in General, with the remainder spread among the other forums, some more than others. This is a great place to hang out!

It is usually my first stop when I come to the site... sometimes there are interesting threads... other times, not so much...

I've not active played acoustic guitar in years. I visit Open Mic first, and then I'll occasionally hit the main page. That's about it.

I've been spending a lot of time in the acoustic amplification area due to some live projects.

But, I like the open mic as well.

I'm fairly recent to the open mic myself.
I've come to enjoy it as you get to know a little more about the posters here beyond their guitar likes / dislikes.
I have to say, though, the entire forum is a breath of fresh air. I generally get up each morning and peruse all the news sites to stay informed (isn't retirement grand?) and it doesn't take long until I'm clicking over to AGF to get away from the craziness and intensity out there.
This has become my "safe place"

Used to love it. But we seem to be growing apart.

Maybe we’d be happier if we split.

Yup, I like it here. Seems warm and fuzzy ;-)

The general discussion area can get a little too serious for me at times. People here seem friendly and helpful.
