Hey Dave,

What's the word on the Hosa MIT129? My eBay seller is playing a funny/not funny game with me, ignoring repeated mails but posting an 'in process' tracking number.

Finally received my Hosa MIT129. Will report back once I get a chance to try it on the Korg amp.

I never got the MIT129. The order got cancelled, unfortunately. But, I think I'm OK without it for now. I had my first gig with the FreePlay and it performed admirably. I used the XLR/TS cable to pickup the 20 dB gain.

Did you get your Play Acoustic running on battery?

I do have it working on battery, but I haven't used it out on battery. I've been running straight in lately. I'll probably run the Play Acoustic next time I need electronic harmonies. For the last few performances I've had actual singers with me. :-)

Did you use a pad or just turn the volume back a little on the guitar?

Can you tell us which battery you've bought and if there were any hiccups in bridging the two items?

It was actually one of the ones you included plus a reverse polarity cable. No issues at all. Boots up just and and seems to work without a hitch. I'll send a link.

So I tried out the Hosa MIT-129 and it sounds quite good, with a drop in the very lowest bass response and a nice smooth mid and high end. It does though drop the signal down lower than I expected, -20db at least. Running signal through the XLR/MIT-129 results in much lower gain than running through the 1/4" input alone. I think this would be most useful on the Reach because of it.

I think the Reach needs about 10 dB attenuation with my Aura Plus system. I seem to get by OK with no attenuation on the FreePlay, so far.

I would get the 10db pad. I can't imagine the Reach channel compressor isn't kicking in if the levels are a little hot.

Mine should be here this week. I was using the adjustable pad, but the thing is so large I need to run it between two cables. The mini one is on it's way. I keep the signal from the pickup low. I don't think the limited is kicking in yet.

How does the FP sound at low bedroom levels? How is the sound for electric guitars. Thanks.

Sounds very good at bedroom levels to me. Sounds good for electric guitar and moderate volume. You'll need an amp simulator pedal.
