Well endless is long time

And perhaps for some it may well be , but no I simply meant that often the nature of appeal of a quick cheap solution, is transitory. And like in the acoustic relm what was satisfactory for an initial foray will with more experience become less so .

As I always told my students (and their parents): buy wisely and right the first time, even if it means a temporary financial sacrifice; well-made musical equipment can easily provide service to multiple generations of players, and you'll never regret purchasing good-quality gear - something all us guys born before Sputnik 1 know well...

Something like this:

Seems like an inexpensive way to get started if you already have a good acoustic amp.

I'm interested in doing something like this, so I am also interested in your feedback.

Thanks,
All kinds of things can be done....at one time, found an old vox tonelab tt (desktop) for $25 and used headphones or some $5 garage sale powered computer speakers plugged right in to the headphone output; worked great for low volume practice in the basement. Actually still use the tonelab that is loop switched into my pedal board.
