It's not structural so go very light and easy on the glue and you will not flood the fret slots. For most joints even experienced wood workers use too much glue, it really doesn't take much, normally you wet both surfaces but again this is not structural so just wetting the one surface is fine. Bruce's pics pretty much sum it up. I use CA though because it's faster and imo easier as I can just push it in place and it's done.

Titebond is good for holding on ebony bridges, I suspect it will do just fine on binding.

I like CA because it's fast and strong though easy to make a big mess with. Titebond is easier to work with and what I would recommend.
