Default Wood question

So there are a lot of amazing builders in this world and on this forum! I would like to know where some of you builders source your woods. Also have the mods ever thought about putting a section in the classified for people to sell wood?

Some of my favorites:

http://www.hibdonhardwood.com/ , http://www.lmii.com/ , http://www.alliedlutherie.com/ , http://www.best-eurospruce.com/index.html , https://www.gilmerwood.com/ , http://rctonewoods.com/RCT_Store/ , http://www.pacificrimtonewoods.com/ , http://www.valemount.com/mountainvoice/

I used to get as much as I could from lumber stores and re-saw it myself but lately, it's quite rare to find anything good enough. I have had a couple of finds on Craigslist too but that's even more rare than lumber stores.

I am lucky enough to live near a specialty hardwood supplier. They supply some softwood, too. I get sound-boards and braces from BC but also got some red spruce locally in Nova Scotia. The cut of the wood is very important, so it is nicer when I can choose and re-saw my own wood.

I bought some raw quartered oak and resawed it but it is only wide enough for a parlor. Also some slab cut cherry and walnut but it is nothing I would use if I was not giving the guitars away. Other than that the local wood supplier has the wood priced where the wood costs as much as buying ready cut sets. I have bought some hardwood on Ebay, but unless you buy more than one the shipping usually costs $50 to get something across the border. Tops are not a problem as there are a few good sellers on the west coast.

RCT is very nearby to me. Sort of our claim to the local lutheie industry. They are in a very nondescript. modest facility and I've driven past it a hundred times without ever knowing it was there. They do a lot of business around the country, I think. Definitely nice and knowledgeable guys.

Kootenay Tonewood---Graham Hein.................Engelmann
Alaska Specialty Woods---Brent Cole.................Sitka
Old World Tonewood---John Preston..................Carpathian
These three people supply excellent wood at reasonable prices. They are all very nice to deal with and aim to please.
