For all the bling, it's the volute treatment that I like best. Congratulations!

Thank you.

People say beauty is in the eye of the beholder -- but part of me thinks that certain proportions/patterns seem universally more harmonious/attractive to the human eye.

My friends and family who know nothing about guitars all get excited about the Olson as soon as they see it. Maybe it's the vine inlay but I like to think it's the shape of the guitar...

Thanks, Jim.

The volute/veneer and the 42 style extension are my favourite parts to photograph.

Thanks JoeCharter,

yes I will be joining the club soon hopefully! It is the best set of Indian rosewood I saw, cedar top, very much JT in body appointments, simple dove neck, cutaway.

I just need to decide upon shiny gold or satin gold tuners, I see you have satin...good?... and what is most important and critical for me..pickup as I play in a full band setting.

So far in my guitars I used some sort of LR baggs dual source system.

I know the best known Oslon players use LB-6 which I never tried, and I am open for that option, but having Micarta installed in one of the most expensive guitars in the world is kind of weird to me.

But LB6 and mic is an option to. Any advices are good, I know about Lyric, but being in a full band I think I could not escape from some sort of piezo.

This guitar has something magic about it - I don't know what, but it's there...
Just enjoy it.

I suppose the vine will be the dominant thing that people notice and react to. For me, the headstock is what stands out, front and back, shape, color contrast and inlay. I say that because on the front, it gives an elegant but less busy termination to the art on the fretboard, but on the back, it provides an artistic focus to what would otherwise be a fairly plain neck, and ties together the wood patterns.

Beautiful, of course, as all have said.

Sounds great. I have the satin gold tuners on mine as well and I think it looks a bit classier/more timeless than the shiny gold ones. The good news with the LB6 is you can easily remove it and replace the saddle with bone if you decide to. My SJ's volume and depth of tone increased noticeably when I removed my LB6 and had Jim send me a plain bone saddle. I suggest you contact ljguitar (Larry) concerning the pickup question as he is quite well versed in the LB6 vs K&K Mini in the context of live gigging...

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Satin tuners all the way for me. Shiny tuners never remain shiny for long. I went with shiny silver on my upcoming SJ only because Jim doesn't have satin silver ones with his logo.

As for the pick-up question, unless Taylor Swift asks me to play in her band, my SJ isn't going anywhere. I have a Taylor GS for live performances.

I recently posted a clip in the Show & Tell section -- but thought it sounded a bit rough.

I reached out to a fellow AGFer and one of my favourite guitar players, Doug Young, for his professional help.

Here's the remastered track:

I'm actually quite pleased with the result but would love to hear your feedback as well.

Thanks for listening!

With photography chops and playing chops, I nominate you for the position of Chief Guitar Pornographer of the AGF.

Nice job Mau. Seems like your playing is getting cleaner and cleaner. Awesome.
