Finish is when the true colors of the woods come to life. Pore filling is the first step in my process and this is when I get to see the change happen before my eyes. It's a hands on procedure and one that I've come to thoroughly enjoy. I think you'll understand why:

Thanks for following along.

Jumping ahead a bit (again):

The finish is a clear gloss catalyzed urethane. I love it's clarity and durability. It does a great job to highlight the natural beauty in the woods.

As mentioned earlier, the bridge location is set for its final scale length. The string spacing at the saddle is also set with its end in mind.

I may end up bringing this one to Woodstock.... just have to figure out if I can fit everything I want to bring on my table....

'Hey, what is this little guitar you have under your table?'

Oh that? That is a guitar that I built for my kid. Do you want to see it?'

I'm happy to report that this little guy will be making the trip with my to Woodstock.

I will be doing final photos of the guitar when I return. Unfortunately for my sons, I'm going to be hiding it from them until Christmas. But I think it'll be worth the wait.

Stop by my table and give it a try. I think it may surprise you.

I carved out some time recently to take some final photos of this fun little guitar. I always enjoy looking at all the little details that I put into my guitars through the lens of a camera. It's a very rewarding process to finally stop working on a guitar and start enjoying it.

More photos coming soon. Stay tuned.

May be one of the coolest build threads I've ever watched.

Love it Chris, very well done!
The finish evened out the values (hues) between the Kingwood and Bocote nicely.

The buttons are brazilian kingwood- just like the rosette and end wedge. And yes, I did make them.

Thanks for the kind words and following along.
