Oh 2neck... maybe if you had a double neck with one CF and one wood neck it would ease the transition ....sigh...

Now, that's funny! You'd only have to humidify the one neck.

Hey, we all go through transitions in our guitar journey. I did the wood thing. And the electric thing. Band rat. Duo. Trio. Solo. Acoustic. Split the top on a Gibson (Humidify? Really?). An Ovation. More electric. Acoustic. Oh, the wood stuff makes a difference? Oh, the wood stuff makes a difference! That carbon fiber guitar seems interesting. Hooked.

I don't think carbon fiber guitar aficionados are anti-wood, Doubleneck. Perhaps more enlightened? Better looking. And, we have more time to play since we aren't having to mess with all that climate stuff that goes along with wood.

Always best to keep your options open.

A beautiful pair there Steve !

I would never dare have one of them myself,
solely because of the expectation of hearing something amazing, that the sight of one would put on any audience I might have.

Two necks would probably give me a better than double chance of messing up

That is a lot of options! Fun to see "the old and the new" together in that image.

Default Cool

I didn't know you had that! How do they compare in sound. Guessing the wood is thinner?

Both guitars sound pretty good. The main difference is the Yairi is a neck heavy beast. The Emerald thin and very comfortable to play. Same sound with much thinner soundbox. Yairi had to be built heavy to take the pressure of 18 strings.

Wow what a great photo.... interesting how the Yari is tree leaning and the Emerald is leaning against not wood... nice play I say.

Perhaps we can try and get away from all this lovey-dovey mutual admiration and try and get this thread back on topic ,

Kerbie has handed out a serious admonishment to all of us and all anyone wants to do is talk about how much they like all guitars and stuff ...

Let’s see a little more contrition please.

Actually, Kramster saw through this whole picture thing. Trolling needs to be more subtle now. If you look at the pic, the wood doubleneck is against a large beautiful natural tree. Representing all that is good about wood guitars. The carbon fiber doubleneck on the other hand is being held up by a cheap plastic chair. Need I say more? Well at least we’re back on theme?

Any 'forum' is a place to input ones OPINION. And I think that, just like the other AGF forums, the CF authors are stating their opinions. Sometimes, opinions include some passion. IMHO, that's OK.
Anything short of saying you are going to 'kill or harm' someone is ONLY expression a level of passion.
Again, a forum is a place of stating an opinion.

Well, that’s just, like, your opinion man !

Anyhoo I’m just kiddin’ around , I reckon this is still about the friendliest corner of the AGF that I’ve ever frequented.

I thought that the fact that this particular thread had kind of just drifted into chatting about various guitars was a great illustration of that cameraderie .

I didn't know there was problem. I always just use the "New Post" feature on TGP and never look at specific Forums. I've had a couple Carbon guitars now, still own one, have one coming this month, someday I'd like a double neck. Someday. Then I'm sure I'm done......

On a non-guitar forum (yes, I have other interests), this quote came up:

"De gustibus non est disputandum..."

Meaning, literally: regarding taste, there is no dispute.

A mentor of mine, many years ago, once said, "You are entitled to your own ridiculous opinion."

I try to live by that.
