Baimo, both my Goodalls wear Schallers. Do your newer CJs have Gotohs? Mine look just like the ones ou posted. Are the Gotohs a substitute that'll fit without modification? I'd prefer to stay with the Schallers unless there is no modification. The gold Schallers on the KCJC are perfect. They were originally on the MCJ but I switched them. Now I prefer the gold on both.

You don't fully realize how good a Goodall guitar is until you sit in a room full of $10,000+ instruments and you hear them out do or hang well with most of them. James and Luke's newest guitars are the pinnacle of a Goodall. I recently had my RCJC from 2015 in the same room with a $14,000 instrument that I won't mention the brand but the Goodall made this other instrument sound like a toy by comparison.

Great looking set of Goodalls there!!! That old Presentation Healdsburg guitar is quite the beauty, I have fond memories of it. I bet that Redwood Standard sounds great as well!!!

Thanks Bobby for the nice words and for the great Macassar. I wish the photo's showed off the build better. The redwood is also real nice. Like one of your latest, the short scale is a treat. They both are clear so my mistakes can be shared. But they do reward with a large dynamic range. The redwood has surprising headroom.

The GC Koa has some of the plainest Koa I have ever seen but it must of tapped well because it sounds real nice. In reference I had another GC Sitka Koa Aloha model that had better looking Koa but no cutaway. The highs are FAT, with that sitka/Koa sweet tone, even up in the cutaway.

I don't know what flavor Goodall is next? Definitely up for trying a few more before I get too old!

Defintely your next one should be a CJ... in mahogany, walnut, madrose or brazilian.

If you could only have one Goodall a CJ would be the one to have. It can do everything quite well!! Its the acoustic guitar swiss army knife.

I agree wholeheartedly, Bobby... the Goodall CJ is my favorite size/shape that James makes and seems to me to be the most versatile, the one that covers the most bases, musically.

If I were to have but one 6 string acoustic, it would be a CJ, without doubt!

This thread reminded me, I live in the San Diego area, and I happened to play a Goodall Guitar at American Dream Music store back in the early to mid 80's. I remember it was a jumbo shaped body, but it sounded amazing!

About a year ago I was at a nearby college playing guitar and a nice Philipino or Mexican gentleman, can't remember which now, approached me and said he knew James Goodall from many years ago, and that they used to go to the same church, etc. But the interesting part was, he mentioned to me that the winged logo was his idea that he suggested to James. Don't know how true this is, but that's what he said.
