Franklin Koa OM 1980
$5350 obo
It truly comes close to the sound of a '30s Martin. A fingerpicking dream. And feels no need for a larger guitar when strumming, Selling has been a very difficult decision. What finally put me over the top was that I got an artist deal with Dale Fairbanks & I'm a dred guy. I sent it to Dan Lashbrook and paid him $1K for his "extreme set up". He sent it back to me, USPS Overnight, and when received the head was broken off!! The good news is that I sent it then to Nick Kuckich at Franklin who carved a new neck ($1500). He was so impressed by Lashbrook's work that he now endorses Lashbrook for his guitars. The new neck kind of gives it the best of older guitar and a new one--certainly in the intonation, stability, etc. In very good shape. Some normal finish checking and a few small scars. Please write or call for pics. Can't figure how to attach. Thanks, Mike 702-733-0333 [email protected] Last edited by mglik; 12-05-2017 at 03:11 PM. |

You may want to add a few details...all Koa? or only the back and sides..if so what's the top wood? Scale length? Nut width?

Franklin Koa b&s OM 1980
Lowered price $4850. Koa back and sides. 1 3/4" at nut. Believe standard scale for an OM-25 3/4".

may want to list the lashbrook setup, an extreme may be too far for some, I had an OM-21 he did with a redwood tone bar, ebony blocks inside, scalloped saddle and nut, jumbo frets, wild setup , over the top for some, I just couldn't get used to the frets.
I have never heard an OM-21 like it though. |

Was the width at the nut changed when the new neck was installed? These came with 1 11/16” back in the day.
