Yamaha LS6 & LS16 Origin

I'm finding conflicting data online. Are these made in Japan or China?

China. The 6 & 16 series used to be made in Taiwan.

But, remember that Yamaha owns their own factory in China and the quality is great. My LLX16 looks, sounds and plays fantastic.

Thanks. I'm sure they're good, my FG730S was MIC and it's great. It's just that I was reading the write ups at MF and it says they're MIJ, which conflicted with what I thought I had read elsewhere.

i have an LS6 that I bought about a month ago...the tag inside says China

The general reference is that the Yamaha L series guitars are made in Japan. That is true of the 26, 36 and up.

6 & 16 are MIC.

Check out You Tube for Yamaha factory tour with muscian from Squeeze. It is in Taiwan I believe, very interesting video.
