Default DIY Wood guitar rack?

Anyone have pics or sketches for a wood guitar rack? I just built a closet for my guitars and need some ideas for a DIY rack. I couldn't find very much from a search.

Get a 4'x8' sheet of "slat-wall" and hang it on the back wall of the closet. Then get some guitar hangers and install them in the slat-wall panel. Instant guitar rack. You can get hangers from various companies such as hercules, string swing or Gruvin. They are available in left-facing, right facing, and front facing. The string-swing hangers can be adjusted to any angle you want.

I think the op is referring to a rack that will hold guitars in their cases. (?)

I have seen a few, and it doesnt look like it would be that difficult to copy them even without plans. I am interested to see what if anything shows up on this thread in the way of plans.

I will probably add a couple to each side, but I have 20 guitars, so they will have to be in a rack type thing.

Thanks for the link. That's pretty interesting, a two level rack on wheels. It would save me some construction. But I think I'm going to try something more "built-in". Real good solution though.

Hopefully, I'll be done by this weekend and put up some pics. I had a contractor put in some full glass front doors. The closet is 7' wide by 4' deep. I am lining the entire space with cedar. It should smell real nice.

I gotta get those guitars out of the basement back room where the furnace is. Worst room in the house for them, even with 2 humidifiers in there.

Ok, these are some close-to-final pics. You can see I put in glass front doors of cherry wood (unfinished for now). The inside is lined with cedar paneling. It smells outstanding and imparts the cedar smell on all the guitars. I put a shelf in and got a 2x7 carpet runner to add some design to it. For the rack part, I basically took a 1x3, tacked cedar veneer on it and mounted 10 guitar hangers to hold them in place. Dowels mount the rail to the side and back walls. To hold the bodies, I mounted two 1 1/2 dowels the width of the closet. I haven't come up with a solution for the bottom rack. I'll probably put in some side mount neck holders of some sort.

I just took some more pics and put them in the thread below..

I am very jealous of both the guitar closet and its contents. Awesome!

I built a peice of rack/furniture that holds the guitar case in the same manner as those shown here. It basically looks like a prayer bench with arms.

Today, we just added another guitar to the stable. After getting pissed at my daughter for taking one of my electric guitars to her "band practice" because she likes it "better" than her strat copy, we went to GuitarCenter where she picked her own natural finish Epiphone Sheraton II. So, guitar #21.
