Default Free Win10 recording software?

I play guitar and sing.....my audience is usually me. <g> I just bought a Windows 10 PC that has an USB FiFine microphone that works very well with Win10's Cortana.

I play acoustic guitar, but often use a Fishman LoudBox Mini often. I finger-pick, so I need a little amp since the guitar's volume is pretty low if un-amped. I usually do not use a microphone, but I have one (Shure) that can connect to the amp. It works, but I've only used it once to test it.

I would like to experiment with recording myself....I know there are a ton of limitations using a simple USB microphone and free software, but I wanted to just try it out for fun.....for now. Once I start fiddling around with the software I will quickly know if I want to find something more capable and expensive.

Can anyone recommend something simple that will allow me to record myself playing and singing? I'm looking for a free download. I do not want to spend any money at this point........

Thanks for your help!

I'm not a huge fan of audacity, but it's free and will do what you need.

Reaper is free to download the full version ($60 to register once you decide to keep it), but there's quite a learning curve.

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestion. I'll check it out.

I read about Reaper and it look good, but far too complicated for me at this time.
