Default Need a little reverb on my mic....

For now I've got one of those Kustom 50 personal PA's for my guitar and vocal needs at home..
I'm not playing out so I'm shying away from spending $299 for a TC Helicon Play Acoustic..
And I'm not sure I really need reverb on my guitar...
But wouldn't mind some on my mic.
I guess my options are a mixer w/FX Behringer $89 or a TC Helicon Mic Mechanic 2 for $149
or
A Fender Acoustisonic 40 and I'd have the Kustom as a add on if needed ??

anything maybe I'm over looking

I would go with the mic mechanic. It has a little more than reverb to make the vocal sound better. However the Play Acoustic is fun at home. I use mine with the Kustom 50 big brother (powerwerks 100) and love the sound.

I've run vocals through my guitar pedals. Kinda cool. A reverb pedal can be had for $50+. Then you need to get a female XLR to TS (1/4") Cable, or adapter. Not the most advisable but if you score a cheap reverb pedal, it would work. I've done it and there are lots more adjustments than onboard mixer effects.

I have a TC R1 and it makes for a huge improvement in vocal tone. It's not just the verb, it has an excellent preamp. Mic Mechanic would probably give you the same thing with more features.

Funny you say that...I've got a Danelectro FAB Echo, that might get the job done

This kind of thing works best if you have a unit that will match the levels and impedance for you and keep the signal balanced so you can go into a mic input.

The two that are most often used for this are the Eventide Mixing Link:

And the Radial Voco Loco:

Although this "solution" does sort of defeat the "use a cheap reverb pedal" idea. The Mic Mechanic is cheaper and offers some other useful things for vocals.

I'd second your thoughts on a mic mechanic, but you may want to look around. There was a posting on here earlier today someone selling a barely used Play Acoustic for, if my memory is correct, 200. I bought mine new for 249 from Amazon.

Mic Mechanic 2. It'll be one of your favorite gizmos, at least it is to me. Reverb, Echo, and Pitch Correction all in one little stomp box.
