MIM Strat brown burst??
Hi guys. I got a great deal on a new MIM strat, it's shipping out Monday. I went with the arctic white. Now I'm unsure if I'd rather go with the brown burst. I plan on putting a cream guard, covers, and knobs on it. My question is, do the current brown bursts have that deep brown color or are they more of an orange-ish light brown.(not a fan) I have one small store in my area that doesn't carry any and pics are deceiving. Any help is appreciated. Also what would you guys rather go with the arctic or burst with the cream plastics. The board is maple by the way. If you're unsure on the level of brown, I'd still like to hear which one you'd choose. Thanks.

For me, it would be between the arctic white and lake placid blue. I haven't seen the brown burst in person, so no comment on that. But, ultimately, I would most likely choose the arctic white... The strat shape/white body combo is very appealing and will always be in style. I say, don't sweat it.

Why either/or when both/and is really what you want? I have a Strat similar set-up: a sunburst '57 AVRI Thin Skin Strat and an olympic white '62 AVRI Hot Rod Strat.

I'm guessing "brown burst" refers to the traditional two tone sunburst. (Looks great with a maple fingerboard and the later three tone (which I also like) looks great with a rosewood fingerboard).
Arctic white looks great either way. My opinions of course! Last edited by Steel and wood; 03-25-2017 at 05:07 PM. |
