Talking GONE !!!!!2016 Charis Sinker Mahogany/Bearclaw Sitka

Below is the original listing from Todd's/ Forum name: Fitness1 listing. I bought the guitar from him 3 months ago and NOTHING HAS CHANGED from when it was listed. The guitar is identical to the day it arrived with me.

Wonder why I'm selling??????? Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to Sell or Trade this one to keep learning and experiencing new acoustic tones.

Belizean Sinker Mahogany (100 years at the bottom of the river!)
Bearclaw Sitka
Cocobolo bindings, rosette and heel cap
Full abalone top purfling and rosette
Mahogany/Maple/Rosewood 5 piece neck - low profile C
Gotoh 16:1 gold tuners
Planet waves oblong strap buttons
1 13/16 nut - 2 5/16 saddle - 25.6 scale
Depth is 4 1/8 to 4 5/8

In regard to cosmetic condition of the instrument, there is NOTHING to
mention. Looks like it did the day I brought it home from Bill's shop.

I'll mention a tiny blemish on the heel cap that was there when Todd received the guitar. See pic

In pursuit of perfect intonation (or as close as possible) both the nut
and saddle were compensated. I used needle files to "scallop" the
saddle, and my tech of 15 years at Elderly did a slight compensation of
a new bone nut I had him cut for it. It is as close as any guitar I've
owned (and I have "dog" ears) Current action is about 5/64 bass and 4/64
treble with plenty of saddle.

The case is a TKL Elite double arch (top and back) in about 8/10
condition on the outside (just some minor abrasions) and perfect on the
inside.

3895.00 plus actual shipping I'll accept Cashier's Check from well established members and reserve the right to hold shipment until it clears. Paypal is ok if you cover charges or want to go Feeless.

A flash drive of the build pics will be included with the sale.

BELOW is the link to the original build thread - in the second post is the story
of the Sinker Mahogany:
AND MORE PICS OF THIS GUITAR INCLUDING BUILD PICS!!

And, a video from Danny at APM of a Performance series Charis in similar
woods - I think mine is just slightly louder and warmer than this one.....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7nJeoBtnGM

Here's a really quick clip I just did - I had to attenuate the low end a
bit to get it to keep from rumbling. This is a Blue Encore 300 mic
about a foot from the soundhole, pointed toward the neck/body joint -
into a Tascam DP-01FX. I don't believe this gives a real good feel of
how glorious this instrument sounds in an open room - the mic lends a
certain nasal quality to it that isn't evident when listening to the
guitar acoustically. Make sure and slide the volume control up before
listening.

TRADE VALUE= $3,895. I'm not interested in guitars smaller than OM. Cutaways are encouraged but not mandatory. Thanks

Have many references on AGF including Todd who is a little bit known around here ha ha.

P.S. I'd like to echo these sentiments from Todd:

As this is a very high dollar sale for me, I am hoping this will be
purchased by a long term and well respected member. I will reserve the
right to deny sale of anyone I'm not comfortable completing a
transaction with.

And another P.S. thanks to Todd for selling me this and sharing a wonderful acoustic guitar.

Saw this last time up and seeing it now - that's one beautiful guitar.

Many compare Charis to Olsons in build and quality.

Never played an Olson. Seems like quite the compliment to Charis guitars!!

This is just a "FINE FINE" guitar.

My curiosity has just got me going.

I've tried guitar stores to see what it's all about trying different guitars, that's pretty cool but it's not the same as having em with you in your familiar personal space for as long as you wish.

That is such a great way to really hone in on what kind of tone best suits me.

Who knows this guitar might be it, but I won't know until I try a bunch more. Hope I don't regret selling it down the road. Lord knows I can't just rebuy this one. It's one of a kind with that BEARCLAW and in your face tone!!!!

Having said all that...................... it's still here and I'm having more and more fun with it. Could just stay with me.

But if it's listed I won't turn down someone who wishes to outright purchase!

Oh and thanks for all the trade offers. Nothing has felt good enough to decide on as of yet.

But...................... Keep em coming!!!!

Thanks Everyone!

Because I have a ridiculous amount of will power. Probably should have never let it go in the first place.

Ha ha

Thanks for the reply NewPicker (I know your real name didn't forget, but want to maintain your privacy in the forum Just in CASE).

I've lost my mind over and over going back and forth on keeping or going for something else.

As I understand it you have been having a lot of fun lately trying many new guitars out!

That's where I want to be, but this beauty has to go first.

Nice Goodall you have listed!!!
