Thumbs up

Bump for a great Taylor, and an even greater seller.

(I so wish this was a GC size in short scale...I'd buy it!)

Dropped Reverb price again. Still cheaper here on AGF, of course!

Back 12/21/16, from a complete inspection, neck set, set up, clear Taylor pickguard, and serious top buffing! Currently sporting Elixir PB HD light strings and really singing wonderfully!
All work done by my pal Tim Luranc. Tim was former head of R. Taylor and is now Senior Repair Tech at Taylor El Cajon.

This axe has been played, but the condition is now very close to new, and the set up is perfect, as always from Tim Luranc!

This has been Tone-Rited since coming home 12/21/16, and has really opened up and matured sound wise! I will keep it on the TR in my plant filled and humidity monitored music room. No pets, smoking, or kids home.

Check the MF link below for a nice demo and even more info!

Made as a special run for Musician's Friend Private Reserve to celebrate Taylor's 40th anniversary.

This one has upgraded bone nut and Gotoh 510 tuners! These were not standard on this model!!!

These were some of Andy Powers first revoicings. The Tasmanian Blackwood is perfectly quartersawn, light, Loud, and very resonant. The AP designed Advanced performance bracing and relief rout add a lot to the tone and volume.

This has the new 3.5 mil finish thickness on the top.

And the bevel alone is a $1,500 up charge if ordering new from Taylor!!

This axe has been played. There WERE a bunch of TINY indents in the top. Most but not all where a pickguard would normally be. Very difficult to see or photograph, as the top has so much Bearclaw and silking! NOW the indents are gone, after Tim's super top buff.

The rest of this guitar is pristine. Almost no fret wear.

Pick up works great.

Action is set to 6/64" and 5/64" Entire new Taylor Micarta wave compensated saddle to adjust if desired.

Gotoh 510s are smooth and secure as usual.

I believe this has the new Andy Powers neck carve. The carve seems to have a bit of a modified V near the nut, and the usual Taylor carve up the neck. It seems even a bit easier to get around than the pre AP shape to me.

Body type: Grand Symphony, non-cutaway

Back & sides: Quartersawn bookmatched Tasmanian Blackwood

Orientation: Right handed
Nut width: 1.75" (44.45mm) with upgraded custom bone nut
Fingerboard: Ebony
Neck wood: Mahogany, Tropical

Are the braces adi or Sitka?

Smile Braces

Good question Wooglins!

Pretty sure they are Sitka. If they were Adi I bet they would brag on it. It does have the protein glues which must help tone.

But it really sounds great, and plays like a dream with Tim L's setup!!!

Cheers

HOW IN THE HECK is this guitar still here??? Oh my goodness. These Taylors are really good instruments and I know that Paul's are extra special because he has some great connections at Taylor to get the set-ups spot on, not to mention he takes good care of his stuff.

Someone needs to jump on this...probably not the first time I said that, but at THIS price...WOW!!

Smile Thanks Mike!

My connect of choice at Taylor is always Tim Luranc. Google him! And occasionally we gig together... Haha

This is stupid low and Cindy says I should pull it and wait till turkey day...

I may, and for good reason!!!

Meanwhile get it while you can

Play often and tune up asap

Cheers

Paul

This one should not last much longer.

Everyone needs a stable with a nice Taylor included.

Smile Thank you all

Thanks seesound, filel1ty, Wooglins, Kerbie, and all the nice folks who have chimed in above.

I have had a couple folks say they have seen these cheaper. True, a bit. But not with the FACTORY upgrades and a world class set up by Tim Luranc!

Truly very close to new condition and needs NOTHING to go to work!

I am confident this is a very reasonable price for this fine axe, even in this tough market!

That said, I am open to reasonable offers, and the worst that will happen is I will laugh uproariously and decline. Haha

Play pretty and tune often!

Cheers

Paul
