Whatever you chose, I know it'll be great.
I like that Curly Macassar set as well. The figure in the middle is "haunting" in a very good way. The waviness on the sides will be awesome.

I really like the koa set #21 but you have so many excellent choices, including the premium figure and dark, straight Brazilian RW sets.

I'll respond again with more ideas.

Like John says, your very nice set of 'tree' with adi top would be outstanding, and somewhat out of the ordinary for normal builds from you I've seen. Your braz at the '09 HGF was a luscious brunette; this would be an enchanting redhead.

"Tree" aside (of course I'd go there first) that set of curly Macassar really caught my eye as well.

And I agree with JR and those who said a smaller bodied guitar, maybe with the depth of an OM but wedged for comfort, along with maybe a smaller bevel (a la Steve Saville), florentine cut (w/ mini bevel) - that would be outstanding.

You don't happen to have enough of the Tree to do an all mahogany guitar do you?

I asked early on (another builder) and was told that it was questionable that the quilted mahogany would have the internal structural strength necessary to be used as a top.

However, with the emerging growth of double tops this may actually be possible. I'm trying to get my "eyes" around how outrageous that would look...

If it was a choice for a guitar for me I'd have a hard time between 'The Tree' mahogany, the tiger myrtle, and the satinwood. For a show, I think the most unique would be the satinwood. Even though 'The Tree' is rare, guitars built from it are out there and a lot of people know what to expect from it. With the satinwood you might be able to draw more of an interest in the wood's characteristics, and what you did with it, to get the tone. I won't suggest a top wood, but say to make it complementary to the satinwood. As far as a body size, a melodic fingerstyle friendly 15" lower bout, 4 5/16" depth, would be nice.

What about a mahogany panorama?

Back/sides: Tree set #2

Top: Cuban Mahogany

Neck: Honduran Mahogany

Could be called the Sampler

By the way, I lost a little respect for myself for quoting me.

+ 1 vote on the Redwood/Macassar combo, with Koa bindings, headplates, rosette, and endwedge.

The ebony back and sides with a redwood top, and a dark ebony bevel. Koa bindings and ebony headplate. If I had the cash, I would commission that right now...

Funny I know a guy with a matching Top and Back set with only one side set. If he could only afford another guitar.

I would say a deep body OM, The Tree Mahog, high figure bear claw top (any bear claw Adi?), Macassar FB, bridge, rosette and headplate from The Tree, , bound in curly maple, Gotoh 510 Cosmo Black tuners.

I am sure if someone were commissioning it for the right price you would LOL

Besides then someone could have another guitar built with just Tree sides.....I mean you don't see the back anyway, just use cardbard or masonite !

I like the all Mahogany idea. Make the back and sides from the "Tree", and the top from "some other tree"
