Woody, there is nothing wrong with the camera you have. The photos are sharp, and the only problem I see is a matter of white balance. That's easy to take care of in photoshop if you are using RAW. I try to stay away from flashes too. Processing RAW in photoshop will take care of brightness also.
I use a 4MB card in my shop camera, and I don't ever take more than 15-20 photos at a time. Always transfer them to my computer, run them thru photoshop and store them in Photobucket, then toss them. Only reason to keep large file photos is for large prints. About problem #1 and especially #2...I have the same problems. |

I finally got around to recording a short clip. I'm calling the guitar a 00-D. That sounds better to me than "mini dread". The recording has no effects, eq or other enhancements. (you can tell by the finger squeeks LOL)
Edit/10-30-2010- I just realized the link to the clip no longer works. I've added a new clip, by a good player a couple posts down.

Woody -
The "OO-D all Koa" sounds wonderful! Really a sweet and timeless sound. It makes me glad that all the work you've gone to documenting this build for us has also resulted in such a fine-sounding instrument. Thanks. - Scott |

Here's a few more (better) pictures.
I've got a section on my website that covers the build of this guitar. It pretty much follows this thread. You can see it here. I'll do a video with this guitar soon,

I just realized the link to the sound clip didn't work anymore.
Here's a new recording. Roger Padgett is the player. All Koa 12 fretter.
