Default New strings for Epiphone AJ-200S

Hi, first post here.

I have an Epiphone AJ-200S acoustic that I don't really like the sound of. The stock strings that are on it seem pretty thick and I was wondering if I should put some lighter gauge strings on it? I mainly play rythmn stuff like Green Day, Ramones, etc. If so, could anyone recommend some good quality/light gauge strings?

I plan on selling this guitar in the future and upgrade to something better, but for now I just want to see if I can make any improvements on it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sam
