Back in 2007 I purchased an archtop and consigned one for sale to these guys. Both transactions were satisfactory.

I sold one on consignment several years ago and purchased one there a year or two ago. Both great experiences. Very nice to deal with.

Archtop.com has been around for a very long time and has an excellent reputation. My recent transaction with them went without a hitch.

I purchased a set of spare pickups and replacement control kit for my Johnny Smith from them and the transaction went well. I would buy from them again.
These were the "Armstrong Handmade Johnny Smith Mini-Humbucker". Tony

Yes, I got a '34 Gibson from them a couple of years ago. The guitar was fine although someone had virtually filed the frets down to nothing.
I was not very happy about the shipping arrangements - PM me if interested. |

Had them sell a high dollar guitar for me. Quick sale.. more money than expected and received the check in record time.
All positive. I have no experience buying, but keep looking for the "right" guitar. I would not hesitate to buy from them. |

I bought my Artist Award from them. It was a little higher than others I've run across, but they said it was in almost mint shape and they were right. A member on a jazz list I'm on happened to be there when Joe opened the case and said both their jaws dropped at the condition of an almost 40 year old instrument (comment after he learned I had bought it, not before). Packed and shipped well. I'd definitely buy from him again and would also consider using him to consign an instrument.

I am considering the sale of several guitars and was wondering what the financial arrangement typically is with Archtop.com. I don't see it spelled out on their website...can you tell me what the deal is?

I believe it's 20% of actual (pre-tax should it apply) selling price. That's pretty standard. Contact them to verify. A phone call or email won't obligate you in any way.
