Newtone strings for Carbon Anyone?
Ive used Newtones handmade strings for a long time, they sound very good and they live longer than any other strings Ive come across. Also Malcolm Newton is a nice person.

Tried them on my Shorty and not enough tension for a 12 fretter, especially in dropped tunings. The mediums sounded and played great though!

I am on my second set of Martin Retros (monel -- blend of nickel and copper) on my Lucky 13. Not as bright as phosphor bronze and perfect for the tone I seek. FYI.

Big fan of the Retros here too. I have TI Plectrums on my Shorty now, and even though I like these quite a bit, Retros are just hard to beat to my ears. I am curious about the Titanium Core when they become available, and might try them once....you never know and if I could get 4-6 months out of them it would be worth it

Newtones on an Emerald X20
I've used the double wound 11-50 on my X20 and like them. I hope to get my hands on the same strings but one gauge up. Very smooth feeling and last well.
