Here's a few songs I recorded on the Rainsong APLE...

On this one, all the tracks (except drums) are the APLE

I understand the desire to study on-line sound bites when you cannot play something in person. But as someone else here recently said, YouTube and similar videos are more about the recording chain and the video compression algorithms than the true tone of the guitar as YOU would experience it.

For me, you can only compare when two different guitars are recorded in the same room, using the same mics and signal chain, played by the same player. No disrespect is intended toward any on-line poster or reviewer. There are just too many variables otherwise, IMO.

I did this a while ago, tend to agree with Earl but it would give you a feel for the doubleneck.

Nice! I'm going to be visiting the factory next week or the week after, and playing their doubleneck is something I am really looking forward to

Louisiana CA OX Raw recorded on a Zoom H2:

Same CA OX, also recorded on the H2, right after I got it:

Both these are played using "taropatch F" - that is, open G tuned down one whole step to C-F-C-F-A-C

J.R. and Fran - nice playing! Thanks for sharing!

And that's why this is one of my favorite places on the net.

I have audio reviews/demos on my youtube channel of the Emerald X20 and the Peavey Composite Acoustics OX. Both were recorded using a Lauten Audio LA220 condenser microphone and then direct into a Focusrite Saffire pro 40 interface at 24 bit. There are no effects and no compression was applied. Same room, same daw, same cables, same guitar pick was used...

Both can be found at:

Cecil;

This is just incredible. The guitar and the play are both marvelous and leave me stretched between two impulses: to grab my guitar and play, and to sell my guitar and give it up. Thank you for the exposure to a great talent.
