Default M1 minor problems

For those who own M1, do you do slap the strings so on More than Words-kind of songs, coz when I do, the slap sounds quite harsh and too loud above the picked notes. I am not slapping directly on the pickup.
Tried lowering the pole pieces but doing so makes it sound less acoustic.
Any way to resolve thsi problem?

Pier.

.

The m1 is a body sensing pu.
You may have to put cork or
some other sound dampening
material between the pu and
the guitar.

Hmm... so that would dampen the impact?
I don't know now if the harsh sound is caused by the strings hitting the pole pieces or that..

I realised that the harsh sound is caused by the strings hitting the pole pieces which are extremely sensitive. Well, I guess it's one of the faults of this pickup. The hyper-sensitivity kinda works against it.
Would a B-band A2.2 sound better than the M1?

I believe you can adjust the pole pieces, but I'm not a "slapper" so I've never had that issue with my M1. I imagine an undersaddle pickup, bridgeplate transducer or internal condensor mic might be better choices than mag pickups or body-sensing/soundboard transducers for a more percussive player.

I still have to say it's a good sounding pickup, must better than my previous piezo. Got it 2nd hand, will be hanging on till my bonus comes in and i get my new guitar. Would the BBand XOM A2.2 surpass this? It probably wun have the problem I mentioned.
