Supply and demand, I guess. Figured it was just a matter of time before this happened. I thought it would happen when they got them in other stores or on Amazon but I guess they didn't want to wait or those deals fell through.

The belief that they will arrive any day needs to be put in perspective:
I placed my order in August. It was originally promise for October. December is less than a week away.

I could imagine the recent price increase as a way of discouraging us from cancelling our orders -- a later reorder of the guitar will cost more.

Very true. If you can wait, hopefully it will be worth it. If not, you can send it back and only be out the shipping on the return. I fully expected to return mine a year ago, not thinking it would be all that great. I was wrong.

Same thing happened to me. I'm left handed so my options are quite limited. I ordered one on November 1st because it is hard to find something other than a Dread left handed that doesn't cost over $1,000. I reached out to the folks at Elderly after the 20th had passed and asked when they expect to receive the guitars. They advised that they are hoping to get them by Christmas! I'm in no rush to get this other than I'm extremely impatient and have grown accustom to ordering something online and getting it within 48 hours. I thought getting something else but I'm buying this as a backup / beater guitar so I might as well wait.

^^^ Me too!

In my defense though waiting for guitars is hard because, you know, guitars are so great.

Waiting is brutal. I don't buy a ton of equipment and I've committed myself to buying high quality guitars and amps (a.k.a. expensive) that I will appreciate vs having 30 Les Pauls like my friend. The only down side is that my only acoustic guitar is way too nice to go out to a party or "camping" for the weekend. The Farida checked off a few boxes in that it's a little different and has gotten good reviews on quality so it wouldn't seem like I was playing a cheap guitar.

Very true, it doesn't feel like your playing a cheap guitar at all to me. Feels more like a medium price range instrument.

I don't mind waiting, but I do wish the folks at Elderly would be able to get a realistic date of when they will receive the guitars. My correspondence with them has been great, but it's a bit frustrating thinking I'll have it by one date and then finding out I'll need to wait another month...maybe.
