I love them too, but it all depends on context. in some songs they can sound SO wrong. and then, I'm not a fan.
I like upper extensions too! and major chords are just so 'glisteny'. my favorite chord ever on the whole guitar is probably this one. 0 11 11 11 12 11

Yep, I like a maj7. Here's my favorite way to play one:
X x 2 4 1 3 (that's a Cmaj7...well, it can be other things as well) I'm of the opinion that chords just start getting fun at the seventh... |

They can sound nice... I have heard some jazz players tell me that they really hate maj7 chords. Me, I like them... I was just playing Simon & Garfunkel's "Old Friends" this afternoon -- Fmaj7 to Cmaj7 capo'd up on the 3rd fret... very nice sound.

I have a funny story about Major 7th chords that I can't tell here...this is a family-forum, you know.

I put major 7th everywhere in my music.
My favorite interval by far. |

I love major sevenths too! I love that you can get the seventh and the one right next to each other, so they're just a half step apart. So for example G major 7th could be XX4002 or C major 7th XX2413...

I love them too. In fact, it had never occurred to me that that love might not be universal, until a friend of mine told me she didn't like the major 7 sound! My expression at the time must have looked as if she'd just tried to tell me the sky isn't blue
I'm at work at the moment, but I look forward to trying out some of these other voicings when I get home |

This is Eadd9. Noticed Tommy Emmanuel uses this as a song ending a couple of times.

I loooove Am.
Not minor chords in general. No no. Just A. A minor. The fact is that THIS is the only chord I ever play. Sorry, just kidding. Chords only mean something when they relate which each other, in a concrete harmonic context (be it tonal or not, BTW), and in relation with melody(ies) and rhythm...

Also known as the 'Mu Major' - Steely Dan used that chord a lot in their music, as did the Police....well, and a lot of other people too I suppose.
