Default NAD&Night: Tweed EL84 Goodness

A Goodsell 1958 1x12, 35 watts in lacquered tweed. This beauty was on the bench Sunday afternoon being completed and then on to my Uncle Sugar gig at Northside Tavern Sunday night and it's _____ spectacular. The larger cabinet sounds full and big and 3D, the natural overdrive is warm and smooth,.. lot's of overhead and dynamic range. Man o' man! I am a happy camper.

It's kinda a cathode biased '59 baseman w/ tube driven reverb and tremolo w/ a full tone stack, master volume, different power tubes and a single 12 inch speaker. Or more precisely it's a double Goodsell Super 17 w/ (2) EL34s as power tubes instead of EL84s in a bigger cabinet. The tweed always says Fender but that's a bit misleading.

Here she is:

I've heard great things about Goodsell amps. Congrats! That's a beauty!

I love tweed in both amps and guitar cases. Nice score! Sounds like you're going to enjoy this one for a long time.

What a beauty! I'm jonesing hard for a tweed amp right now, probably something in the 5E3 territory, although I'm not sure if I'll go with Victoria, Clark, Blakenship, or what. But Fender's line of Eric Clapton tweed amps are drool-worthy too.
